Generate an automatic dashboard

Ask the assistant for a complete dashboard in one instruction — KPIs, charts by category, top records.

  1. Step 1

Have flat data on a sheet

The automatic dashboard works best with a table-like sheet: one row per record, clear headers in row 1, no merged rows or totals in the middle. Example: a Sales sheet with columns Date, Category, Product, Quantity, Total.

  2. Step 2

    Say "create a dashboard"

With the file open, type in the chat: "Create a dashboard from the Sales sheet data". The assistant identifies the main numeric metric (Total), a date column (for trends) and categories (for comparisons).

💡 Tip: If you have a brand color, add it: "...with primary color #1976d2".
  3. Step 3

    Wait 30–60 seconds

The assistant builds a Dashboard sheet with: 4 KPIs at the top (totals, counts, averages), a time-trend chart, up to 4 categorical charts in a 2×2 grid, a cross-table and a top-10 of records.

  4. Step 4

    Refine details if you want

If something isn't right, just ask: "change the brand chart to horizontal bars", "the first KPI should show the average, not the total", "add the logo in A1 from [URL]". The assistant edits instead of regenerating from scratch.

  5. Step 5

    Save a version and export

When you're happy, save a version. If you want to download the .xlsx with everything (charts included), use the Export button.

💡 Tip: The natural next step is to share it — check out the publishing tutorial.
